The following pictures were taken in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2000, Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto was opened on November 4, 1876. It was designed by landscape gardener H. A. Englehardt to include "winding paths and roads, irregularly shaped islets, panoramic perspectives, and monuments inserted in a naturalistic setting enriched by a wide variety of groves and trees." The cemetery remains true to this vision, which now includes many wonderful trees, fountains, sculptures, and a wide variety of monuments. It includes the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre as well as a Mausoleum. Our Historic Photos page has a range of Mount Pleasant Photos going back to 1900.
