Natural History Museum Stonework 1
A couple of weeks ago I had a few shots from the modern part of London's Natural History Museum, but now here are some shots of the wonderful Waterhouse Building, by Alfred Waterhouse. I stood outside the entrance way taking lots and lots of photos of the carvings across the front the of building. These column capitals are intricately carved with botanical elements, incorporating acanthus leaves, pinecones, and other foliage rather than classical volutes.
